Absence Reporting
Will your child be absent?
Please notify the office as soon as possible, or report in Family Access (instructions on this page).
360-412-4730
Leave a detailed voicemail if necessary.
If a student is planning to be gone for more than 5 days for excused reasons, obtain a form from the office to have their teachers fill out that includes their missed homework for that period.
Attendance Communication
- Students that have an absence or tardy will receive an automated communication in the afternoon that day.
- Students with 2 unexcused absences will be contacted by the Aspire office staff to discuss attendance, including a brief check-in with the Aspire counselor to discuss impacts on their attendance.
- Students with 5 unexcused absences will meet with leadership to discuss attendance, including any supports that might be needed to help.
- Letters will be sent home to families with unexcused absences reach 2, 5, 9, 12, and 20 days.
- Students with 12 unexcused absences will meet with leadership to review the plan developed at the 5-day meeting.
- Students may be referred to the truancy board if attendance does not improve, and they need additional interventions beyond the plan developed at Aspire.
